Joey Bada$$’ debut album B4.Da.$$ debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard 200. Maybe it was Malia Obama’s cosign, but B4.Da.$$ landed at the respectable number five spot, moving 58,000 copies in its first week.
B4.Da.$$ is also number one on the R&B/Hip-Hop and Rap Album charts.
Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco’s fifth studio album Tetsuo & Youth debuted just outside of the top 10, moving 42,000 units, which is 12,000 more copies than Lupe predicted himself.
As we expected, the bloggers minced Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend’s words all up after he talked about helping out with her creative process in the past . In turn, there were numerous headlines that stated Scaff Beezy was going around saying he wrote her rhymes. That’s totally not what happened — and he took to Twitter today to clear it all up.

While we’re all still trying to process Rihanna’s countrified collabo with Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney, the rap Gods decided to go ahead and bless our Saturday night with this new banger from Lil Wayne and Migos called “Amazing Amy.” This one’s for all the girls out there that can “swallow the d*ck like a Heineken.” God bless you, Quavo.
Wayne spends most of the outro apologizing for “the wait,” suggesting that this song might be a leftover from Sorry 4 The Wait 2. In which case, let’s hope it’s being saved for Tha Carter V instead (which, pending an $8 million lawsuit against Birdman, might actually see the light of day soon).
A somber A$AP Rocky did his best to hold it together and gave a few words to Billboard on the passing of A$AP Yams. While at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah to attend the screening of his acting debut in the film Dope, the grief stricken rapper set the record straight on his friend’s death.
“People were saying that Yams overdosed on drugs — he didn’t overdose on any drugs,” Rocky said, though he declined to discuss the real cause of Yams’ passing. “I feel like people feel that way because that’s all he’s in pictures doing. When you see A$AP Yams you see Hennessey or purple drink, you see some type of controlled substance or illegal narcotic.”
Yams’ funeral service was held today at Frank E Campbell Funeral Chapel in Harlem.

A$AP Rocky after his performance at Sundance 2015:
“That performance — that was just going to stop me from crying,” Rocky said, speaking for the first time in detail about Yams’ death. “I had to address it, because the whole time I was rapping and I wasn’t into it, which is sad, but I just gotta keep it real. I can’t front. It’s even harder knowing that I gotta fly out in less than an hour just to go bury him. That’s the part that eats at me.”
“I’ll be back in my zone in a bit,” he said. “I just got it get it together. This all happened and the timing is so wrong, with me doing Sundance and Mens Fashion Week in Paris.”
It’s official the claws have come out! Lil Wayne is set to be suing his daddy aka Birdman for $8million!
According to TMZ, after many failed negotiation attempts, Lil Wayne is fed up and is hauling his behind to court to escape Cash Money and Birdman once and for all! He says that Birdman is in violation of his contract because he is withholding the release of his album, The Carter V.
He also states that the $8 million allegedly comes from the advancement money he is owed for his last album, we believe is for Sorry the Wait 2. Birdman seems like he won’t budge because he is still saying it isn’t the right time for the Carter V to drop and we all know he wasn’t too happy about how Lil Wayne clapped at him in his “I’m in Love With The Coco” remix.
We can see this divorce is about to get ugly, this spousal fight must be so awkward for Drake, Nicki Minaj, and friends under the label as well! Who would have thought it would actually come to this! I can’t lie no (shade involved) but I am surprised that that is all Birdman owes him to be honest but I guess Lil Wayne will be joining the long line of other people Cash Money General owes money to.
Let’s chat below do you think Birdman should just drop the album to make Lil Wayne happy or is Wayne being a brat and should be patient?
